   Right you are. I do not feel confident in rewriting history,
   so I will mention that function in the push to be sent in a few
   hours time. Acceptable?

Not sure what you mean with `rewriting' history; you can't do (long
story is that you can, but it requires raw access to savannah and what
not).  

If `mentioning that function' you mean updating the ChangeLog
accordingly, and doing a normal commit then that is exactly what you
should do.
