Hello,

A new version of ComPlot is available as of today:

http://download.savannah.nongnu.org/releases/complot/

It may take a day before the current version (1.1.0) is available on the
mirror sites.

Many changes have been made, including refactoring, new functionality
and bug fixes. Some of the main improvements include:

 - Compatibility with PyFerret (and the newest versions of Ferret).
 - It is now model independent -- right now it is tested with NEMO and
   NorESM/HAMOCC.
 - Different domains of the ocean can be plotted (seawater, sediment).
 - Units and long_names are derived from any tracer expression.
 - Colour bar scale is automatically calculated, with straightforward
nudging or right-out overriding by the user.
 - Bug fixes and cleaner code.
 - Updated documentation.

Check out the repository and do `hg history -v` for a complete change
log.

ComPlot is a library of Ferret scripts that aims to create intuitive
plots comparing gridded data with point coordinate data. It is written
for oceanographers who want to compare ocean model output with
observations, and do so in freedom.

If you want to know more about the package, want to use it and if you
want to contribute, please visit the project page:

https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/complot/

ComPlot is described in this paper:

http://dx.doi.org/10.21105/joss.00368

This was published at the time of ComPlot 1.0, but this short paper is
still consistent with the most recent version of ComPlot. Citing this
when you use ComPlot is highly appreciated!

Happy plotting!

-Marco
