Appreciate the prompt AND courteous response. FWIW, I finished 28 installs on assorted RPi (over the last two days) and never encountered this message under RaspberryPi OS and yet the two RPi (running Kali/32-bit and Ubuntu 20.04/64-bit respectively) raised identical error messages - I have a lot to learn about the variations in the distros.

Will definitely follow your instructions after studying the messages in greater detail (which I should have done earlier instead of submitting a reflex action note). Thanks again for your understanding of the first note from a "newbie" person.

You should follow these instructions to upgrade to the latest version
of config.guess and config.sub. Copy these files into the Nagious
