newbie - examples??

hi folks:

i have just started looking at replacing make with cons -it seems to be 
exactly what i want.

but i do have a problem - don't know where to start. i have not been able to 
find very many examples.

my environment is primarily windows with gcc.

any pointers in this area would be greatly appreciated.
