Moving this thread to dev.

Normalizing the path had occurred to me and I had dismissed it because I
was thinking that the update_dir printed for the user should match the
path they typed in.

Of course, I hadn't considered the administrative files yet.  Now that
you mention it, I agree that normalization, at least as far as
condensing // and /./ makes the most sense.  If an admin puts multiple
symlinks leading to the same cvsroot path and can't make up regexps to
match, then I'm inclined to categorize that as said admin's problem.  :)
