Those are very good examples of problems and the reason I would be sad
to see the CVS source code repository depart from Savannah. Savannah
is supported by a community of GNU Project contributors and also by
the FSF resources. It is bigger than any one individual.

Savannah has a very long history of being a software archive. Longer
than most software repositories. Speaking as one of the Savannah
volunteers we see our task as being curators of the archive. Keeping
it going for the long term is very important. Long term so far is
measured in decades and still counting.

Agreed. Speaking as a member of the Savannah Hackers team if there is
some deficiency of using cvs from Savannah please let us know of the
issue. If there is a problem that could be fixed or deficiency that
can be improved then of course we would wish to fix or improve it.
