^D for EOF and Execution Window not working under CYGWIN

I've compiled DDD 3.3.1 under CYGWIN.  I am having two problems (so far):

(1) When I try to debug a program that reads from the standard input, EOF is 
not recognized when I type ^D in the console.

(2) The execution window does not work. The io still comes from and goes to 
the debugger's console.

Any ideas?  Thanks.
