ddd on Compaq Tru64

Hello,
When starting ddd 3.3.1 on a Compaq Tru64 host, sometimes I get the message:
dbx: cannot open master pty: No such file or directory
dbx: communication setup failed

The ddd uses:
Ddd*debugger: dbx
Ddd*useTTYCommand: on
When debugging TTYAgent::open_master() I see the last loop (starting at line 586)
going through all available /dev/pty?? but TTYAgent::tty_ok() never returns "true".

Is it a timing problem?

Another question:
There is an I/O problem when using an execution window with dbx
(using Ddd*separateExecWindow: on).
Is it that dbx cannot redirect I/O to the execution window, or is it
a configuration problem?
