In general, when reporting a problem to an english using mailing list,
include error messages in english as well (use a temporary locale setting,
don't try to translate them back).

That version is ancient and undoubtedly uses syntax or constructs no longer
accepted by recent C++ compilers. Use a recent version (from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ddd/) instead.
