Motif issue

I am running a Motif application ported from Solaris to Linux. The application
runs fine, with one minor bug we are investigating.

Attempting to start the application within ddd, it apparently does not get the
X resource file, which is supplied via the XFILESEARCHPATH environment
variable, and the startup process aborts when certain character strings
expected to be defined in the resource file are not defined, resulting in a
string address of 0.

Is there anything special that I need to do to cure this?

Our ddd configuration is --

GNU DDD 3.3.1 (i386-suse-linux)
Copyright (C) 1995-1999 Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany.
Copyright (C) 1999-2001 Universität Passau, Germany.

Compiled with GCC 3.2, GNU libc 2.2
Requires X11R6, Xt11R6, Motif 2.2.2 (Motif Version 2.2.2)
Includes XPM 3.4.11, Athena Panner, DDD core
Built 2002-09-10 by root <address@hidden>.

I have used ddd on this platform successfully for non-Motif applications.

Thanks for your help.
