Hi Shaunak,

I started using the new version (3.3.12-rc2) - that's the one that started working once I deleted the sessions.

yeah.i will surely look into the log file and update.
One thing i would like to know.Is it your old version(3.3.11 ) that started working and are using that now or the new one?

    Hi,
I installed the latests sw you suggested Shaunak. Unfortunately
    that didn't fix it.

I also started poking around in the .ddd dir. I ended up deleting
my sessions (I didn't have anything that I couldn't recreate
there) and a lock file that was there. I tried the lock file
first, then re-ran. That didn't help. Then I tried deleting the
    sessions.

    Suddenly it's working again.
I'd still like to know why it stopped working, if the log file
    tells anything.

Otherwise, it's up and running again.

            Hi,

Can you please send your ~/.ddd/log file...

Anyway, 3.3.11 is old. The latest version is
            ddd-3.3.12-rc2 which is available at
            ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/ddd/ddd-3.3.12-rc2.tar.gz
            You can try that.

            Regards,
            Shaunak

               Hi,

I've tried the archives first, but came up empty handed.

A few days ago ddd was working fine for me, but then it
            stopped
loading the gui when it was starting up.

I'm running Debian Etch and have not upgraded it
            recently, so I
               don't think it's a package conflict/issue.

               Version -- GNU DDD 3.3.11 (i486-pc-linux-gnu)

What I see when I run it:

               address@hidden ddd ./mwrd
               Warning: XmStringGetNextComponent: unknown type 140366656

               (Annoyed?  Try 'Edit->Preferences->General->Suppress X

               Warning: XmStringGetNextComponent: unknown type 140815104

I get the small spash screen, the tool tip and when I
            close that
window, nothing else happens. I figure I've hung it up
            somehow,
but can't find another instance running and am not sure
            where to
go with this. (ps -ef reveals the neither ddd nor gdb
            are running...)

               Any pointers would be helpful.

               Thanks,
               Bethany
