So what made you decide not to rewrite all the code in Python 
from scratch? :-)

I am in the process of making considerable improvements to dg.exp.  I 
could help the docu effort by writing pages for the current 
functionality provided by dg.exp, to be updated in stages when I check 
my improvements in.
