OK.  I build and run dejagnu-1.4.3 from scratch regularly.
If you post patches to that, I can verify they don't break
in my environment.

Uh, oh. I have imported (and tested) top-of-tree from CVS, added a fix to proc find in utils.exp (similar to HJ's, but a bit better, and -- tested, and which I will submit shortly), and run all our GCC tests (4 languages) + libstdc++, with no discrpancies wrt our previous, really old version (1.3.1).

So, I prefer to post patches against top-of-tree :-(.

Probably on the `proc find' issues matters, i.e., perhaps you and I could synchronize to start with.
