SPEAKeasy is a Department of Defense and industry program initiated to develop a software programmable radio operating from 2 MHz to 2 GHz, employing waveforms selected from memory, or downloaded from floppy disk, or reprogrammed over the air. SPEAKeasy is designed to implement a totally open architecture with secure communications, interoperability, and programmability, all combined into a very compact, lightweight configuration.
