Yosh (address@hidden) just solved our problems with sysV shm on Mac OS X
in the gimp using posix shared memory. aparently, posix shared memory
works much better and does not share the same limitations as sysV shared
memory on mac os x.
There is a bugzilla report about it:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102058
The bug report does say so yet, but we confirmed it worked today, we are
just waiting of fixes to the configure script to close the report.
Also, Mac OS X violates POSIX and puts shm_open in libc, not librt.
