I have loads of experience with it under Windows but my experiences under Linux have been less than fun. We use PortAudio in the Windows version of the Flex Radio GUI to talk to the myriad hosts under Windows (standards are wonderful, that is why there are so many of
them). Jack is easy to use and I really do recommend it.

I am not anticipating having a lot of time to work on this in the near future.

FWIW the version of jack that runs on OSX appears to have matured quite
a bit. PortAudio also has an OSX version, but given a choice, I'd bet
more on jack.

PortAudio looks interesting because it has a Windows port too. Anyone
have any experience with it? Interested in writing a gr-audio-portaudio
module?
