Hello Gregory!
I cannot help you exactly with your question, but I'd have a hint for
posting on mailing lists:
It seems to like you got the latest mail from the list, replied to it
and changed the subject. This is of course very convenient, but there is
a rub in it: you get a lot of stuff from the message you're replying to,
like this:
References: <address@hidden>
<address@hidden> <address@hidden>
<address@hidden> <address@hidden>
<address@hidden> <address@hidden>
<address@hidden>
<address@hidden>
This is not crap, it's the messages that are in context to the message
you are replying. Good email readers (like the ones good hackers that
you want to reach use :-) ) make a nice thread out of it and show you a
(graphical) representation of who wrote in reply to whom. Your
Thunderbird can do this quite fine, too.
Now your message pretends to reply to the last one in this thread. This
is not optimal for a first post, as people my think it's a new comment
to an already discussed topic or overlook it completely.
To make it short: For best results on a new topic create a new email and
resist from replying to an existing one. Take the time to enter the list
address by hand or from the address book. This should bring more
attention to your request.
Regards and good look!
Patrick
