This is fine, but if you want any of the GUI's (and common apps, such
as usrp_fft) you'll need to install the dependencies for wxpython.
I think you need:
$ apt-get install wx-common python-wxgtk2.8
But take a look at
http://vps.gnuradio.org/redmine/wiki/gnuradio/UbuntuInstall
for the details on Ubuntu.
