I'm guessing that your main code, which calls set_singleton,
is letting the gc_job_manager object go out of scope. I'm not sure if
you're coding in C++ or Python, but if you're in Python, try assigning
it to self.<something> = job_manager, where self is an object that
will exist to the end of the program.
By design the singleton is held as a weak_ptr, which will not keep the
object in existence. (If it was held as a shared_ptr by the library,
it would never go out of existence.)
