That is correct, Walter.

Can I suggest that if you're going to head down the path of Software 
Defined Radio development that you get yourself a couple of
  books to give you the necessary background in both radio and signal 
processing?

      o Any recent edition of the ARRL handbook has very good 
introductory chapters on radio
      o Handy set of references here:
