Thanks for the advice Sreeraj, but would a sampling rate mismatch stop the flow graph  from executing at all?

If In the same flow graph I substitute the RTL-SDR by the UHD USRP Source using the N210, the flow graph executes properly.

Indeed Marcus, I ll give the script a go as a last resort,  i m curious to find out what causing it. To troubleshoot it I upgraded the working one on 3.6.2 running on ubuntu 11.4 to 3.6.4.1, and guess what I m facing the same issue reported initialy , it looks like it is related to the gnuradio version !

Well, I looked at your .grc file, and it has some problems.

Since the input rate isn't evenly divisible by the output rate (44.1kHz), your decimations aren't going to work very well, since they don't
work out evenly.   It may sort of stagger through on some versions and not others.

You might want to use any of the resampler blocks--like the fractional interpolator, to make certain that samples are being delivered
  at the correct rates.
