Also if your frequency hopping is within the analog bandwidth of the radio you may be able to use DSP tuning, which has almost instantaneous reactions.

With that particular radio, yes.

That was for the B2xx series and E3xx series, which are based on the AD9361/AD9364 chips, which were never really designed for
  fast frequency-hopping applications.

The other RF cards, like WBX, SBX, CBX have faster PLL synthesizers, so faster hopping is possible, although there are host-to-radio
  transaction times to consider as well.
