The audio device in the windows audio sink can be used one of two ways,

First is to use a number which is the device ID of the audio device, the second is to enter a string representing the device's name.

Realize, however, that there is no way to interactively iterate through the list of available devices, so you'll have to figure out the ID's/names yourself through the control panel.  It will give a warning in the output log if what you entered is not found so you can least use trial and error.  If it can't find the device you entered, or you don't put an entry in, it will use the WAVE_MAPPER device.

Subject: [Discuss-gnuradio] problems with windows binaries and audio

Hi,

I have installed the windows binaries from GCNDevelopment

A simple test with a wav file and an audio sink does not seem to work.

I have changed the config file to use audio - windows but still this is not working.

(same grc file works fine on Linux).

I have tried this on both Windows 7 and 10 with no success.

Can someone report if they had success with audio on Windows with these binaries?

Any ideas as to what else I can try?

thanks

Achilleas
