Hello Evariste:
You can use Ettus Research's MIMO cable if you want to connect two USRP N200/N210s (with same daughterboards) to form a 2x2 MIMO system (see: https://kb.ettus.com/Synchronization_and_MIMO_Capability_with_USRP_Devices) . LimeSDR, XTRX, and USRP B210 have 2x2 MIMO capabilities to begin with, so you do not need to use additional tools like MIMO cables in order to set up a MIMO system if you are happy with a 2x2 transceiver. All you need is a single unit of LimeSDR, XTRX, or USRP B210.
Please note that they are a bit different from the USRP N200-based setup in that they share one LO on multiple channels (=provides phase coherence, but prevents you from tuning to two multipe frequencies simultaneously). Also, please note that USRP B210 is a bit easier to use than the cheaper alternatives (in my opinion), although LimeSDRs are not too bad either, considering the cost difference.
For LimeSDR, please check out https://discourse.myriadrf.org/ and https://discourse.myriadrf.org/search?q=MIMO .

I am working on a publication paper (personal work) which involves MIMO stuff. I think I will go with LimeSDR which seems cheaper.
For a 2x2, can we still use Ettus MIMO Cable? If not, how the configuration plays out? Any links for reading will be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Eva
