I think I see. LaunchPad 1.0.1 is incompatible with gui/xgps 6.8.0,
you'll either need to revert to 1.0.0 or make one tiny change in xgps.
Edit the xgps.make/xgps.make.in file and remove the ifeq/endif
($(GUI_BACKEND_LIB),xgps) clause

A new release of gui/xgps should be coming soon.
