I wish I knew why/how that happens to you.

It will be very helpful for us, if NSUserDefaults is updated as you
suggested. Is there a way for us know about the updations on this, so that
we can use the updated version.

In general, you can simply update your code from the CVS repository occasionally and check the ChangeLog file ... ChangeLogs contain up to date information on all
modifications made to the source code.
