Is this just in relation to the way the backend operates internally, or
do you mean some PS() and DPS() function calls will be dissapearing
from the frontend interface as well ? I am slightly confused by this as
I didnt see what the conclusion of the original discussion was...



I removed PS() and DPS() calls from the frontend, but only ones that are not useful, like stack functions that you would only use when writting PostScript programs (e.g. execstack, dup, mark), and other functions that we could never implement because we would need a real PostScript interpreter (e.g. settransfer pathforall).
