Hello,
I have just uploaded a new version of ViewIt (0.6). The most important
(IMHO) new features are: Searching, Document Outline and a first alpha
version of a PDFImageRep. For a full list see below. The screenshots on
the ViewIt homepage have been updated been as well as the feature list.

Ok, I tested it, and my "broken pipe" problems with gs remains ...
but, the PDFImageRep is impressive -- okay, the results aren't perfects,
but at least it was able to display PDF :-) and that's very cool.
I noticed some problems (obviously the lack of images and embedded fonts),
xfig diagrams (included as eps) was wrongly displayed (lines were huge),
and the outline was displayed but I wasn't able to navigate (the document
was a pdf made via LaTeX). Do you intend to add "graphic" thumbnails if
they are included in the pdf ?
It could be perhaps better to resize the window to follow the image's size,
and perhaps set the image size depending on the current window size
after the user clicked on the "fits" button (a further click on
bigger/smaller/1:1
would stop that)
Anyway, good works !!
