So I've finally got the first upload of my new GNUstep ebuilds for
Gentoo comitted to portage. I'd like to see the gnustep.org page
(http://www.gnustep.org/resources/sources.html) changed concerning the
Gentoo entry.

Generally, this blip should read:
- ----
Gentoo

The newest GNUstep ebuilds can be emerged using the ~ARCH keyword
(e.g. ~x86). This can be specified on the command line (as
'ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge ...'), or entries for each GNUstep
ebuild can be placed in /etc/portage/package.keywords (the preferred
method for "mostly" stable systems). More information can be found at
"man 5 portage", and "http://dev.gentoo.org/~fafhrd";. After
keywording the unstable/testing packages (e.g. ~x86 set for the
GNUstep ebuilds you wish to emerge) you can run the following as root:

emerge -pv gnustep-env

After reviewing what will emerge, you can remove the pretend option
"-p" and run the emerge. Review any documentation found here:
"http://dev.gentoo.org/~fafhrd"; for any further steps. You can
install GNUstep applications similarly, e.g. "emerge gnumail".
- ----

Overall, things are finally shaping up for GNUstep on Gentoo. I still
have to apply my patches that allow for env var setting of
GNUSTEP_DEFAULTS_DIR and such, but overall things work. I'm going to
try to put together prettier documentation when the new -gui or other
core packages are released.

Wider GNUstep support is always a good thing, so I'm quite happy at
the moment. :-)
