I'd like to announce that Gregory Casamento has graciously accepted the
position of Chief Maintainer for GNUstep. After over 15 years of being
the Chief Maintainer for GNUstep, I've found I have too many other
responsibilities to devote as much time to GNUstep as is necessary. I
still plan on contributing to GNUstep in the future in a lower
capacity.
Gregory has been a prolific developer for GNUstep for the past seven
years and is currently the maintainer for Gorm (the graphical interface
designer) and the GUI library. I think he will make a great choice to
lead GNUstep in the future.
"GNUstep is a true labor of love for me. I've been on the project for
7 years now and I'm very excited about this opportunity to help take
GNUstep to the next level."

GNUstep is a cross-platform, object-oriented framework for desktop
application development. Based on the OpenStep specification originally
created by NeXT (now Apple), GNUstep enables developers to rapidly
build sophisticated software by employing a large library of reusable
software components
GNUstep contains almost all the major elements necessary to create a
truly unique and elegant user desktop experience.
It's noteworthy that in a field of numerous and highly popular desktop
and development environments, GNUstep still remains a viable solution,
perhaps due to the dedication of a small number of developers who have
consistently made major contributions to the project over the years.
GNUstep is also a truly international project, with major developers
from around the world contributing to it's success. It is no fluke that
GNUstep has a large following and is used by many corporate and
individual users around the world.
See www.gnustep.org for more information.
