that is really cool - you found a bug in gnustep-make. :-)

I fixed the bug in trunk, please try again from subversion.  If you can't 
update 
your gnustep-make, please add 

NEEDS_GUI = yes

to your GNUmakefile (somewhere before including test-application.make).

Let me know if that works any better. :-)
