it's a matter of taste of what you define "old" and "mac"... the grey-style of windows-classic look perhaps?
It depends also on your monitor setting.

Try the current (as of svn in gap) Sleek and Neos themes and see if they suit you more, they both sport lighter shades of grey. You can then inspect them with Thematic.
