DotGNU holds weekly meetings to discuss any issues
of relevance; to allow the developers to catch up
with each other; and to allow new members to ask
questions and find out how to join in.
The meetings are conducted via IRC in the channel
#dotgnu on irc.openprojects.net at the following
times:
Saturday 1000 UTC
Saturday 2200 UTC
The first is best for DotGNU members east of UTC
and the second is best for DotGNU members west
of UTC. Some of the key DotGNU members attend
both meetings.
The logs of #dotgnu are always available here:
http://ajmitch.dhis.org/dotgnu/
Note: the times are UTC, not GMT. If you have a
Unix system, then the command "date; date -u" will
give you your current time in both local and UTC,
allowing you do determine when the next meeting will
occur.

--------------------------------------------------
It's been only a week since ... well, .. the last
meeting . But it seems like a looong time and lots
have changed during the past week..
Pnetlib compilation (otherwise known as the Holy
Grail of pnet hackers), was achieved partially this
week. The pnetlib (including mscorlib.dll,System.dll,
and System.Xml.dll) compiled with cscc to give fully
verifiable output.
The compiler has been hacked extensively with the
pnetlib support in mind by various people. The major
bugs in semantic analysis and codegen blocking pnetlib
compilation has been removed. Thanks to Sylvain Pasche,
the assembler acquired support for exceptions in JVM
output mode , thus making progress in the other than IL
works. Pnetlib development has not exactly been frantic,
but the cvs has kept ticking , which is a healthy sign.
So we're meeting to discuss the upcoming release of
pnet 0.4.6 on Sunday . I hope Rhys can manage to come to
this meet . I think this is a version to take note of as
the first really "community" version of pnet. We've all
worked on it in some way or other ..
We have lots of questions about various subjects like
Threading, System.Xml to discuss. Also a conversation
with Rhys should prove interesting for everyone even
if it is about "programming with a soldering iron"....
