OK... just thinking off the top of my head.
It seems that most lisp is portable across multiple Emacsen...
Why not support a package distribution system running off the FSF website (and
mirrors).
This way we could alert Emacs users to newly updated elisp, and have them
upgrade to the newest version without having to pull down a whole new Emacs
dist.
The only problem is that this would duplicate the functionality of apt-get but
not all systems have this.
XEmacs has this...
Thoughts?
