Addition to previous message on reproducing the bug: The bug only exists when post-command-idle-hook is not nil; for example, I have post-command-idle-hook as (which-func-update). So add: M-: (add-hook 'post-command-idle-hook 'ignore) -- Karl Chen / address@hidden
