It's not a matter of rewriting the GTK documentation. The point is to write what the Emacs user specifically needs to know. The part of the Emacs manual that talks about customizing Xlib and the Lucid widgets isn't the same as anything in the manuals for X or Xt. They don't do this job; they do their jobs. It's the same for GTK.
