Thanks for your work on ruler-mode!  I am the initial author of
ruler-mode and I really like the improvements you made to it.
Particularly that I can now drag column markers on the ruler.  Very
nice!  It is a feature I wanted to add to ruler-mode.  Unfortunately
I didn't get enough free time to work on it :-(

I would be happy too, if your changes could be merged into the
current source (I think the version number should become 1.5, and
maybe the copyright could be updated too).

I don't know if you need to sign legal paper for that?

Does anyone else have an opinion?
