Is there any reason to keep undo information in the SMTP session
buffer used by smtpmail-via-smtp?
The following patch seems to be TRT:
*** smtpmail.el 16 Nov 2005 23:29:56 +0100 1.78
--- smtpmail.el 05 Dec 2005 00:16:21 +0100
***************
*** 605,610 ****
--- 605,611 ----
;; clear the trace buffer of old output
(with-current-buffer process-buffer
+ (setq buffer-undo-list t)
(erase-buffer))
;; open the connection to the server
