That would be quite easy to implement. The reason it is not there is
that I never needed it. I have nothing against adding it and I know
that Richard too want this.

Such a command would need to check how many images the directory
contains and warn the user if the number of files exeeds a certain,
configurable, limit (say 50 or something like that as default).

That was once true and the reason was that the thumbnail file names
used the original file name as part of it. That is now changed, so
that comment should be removed.

It seems I should get myself CVS access and start doing some
changes...
