Whoops, sorry.  Actually, I did do `i type TAB TAB' before posting,
and noticed "type (button property)", which prompted my suggestion.
In my haste I overlooked "type, defcustom keyword".  For me, the
latter is a bit less eye-catching than using parentheses as I
suggested, but I would consider either quite adequate.  My Elisp
manual (from GNU Emacs 22.1.50.1 of 2007-04-30) does not contain index
entries "display, defcustom keyword" or "enable, defcustom keyword",
but perhaps they've been added since (if not, I again would prefer the
parenthentical form).
