Sorry, I'm too dumb for your riddles.  If you can spare me more than
two words and explain what design you have in mind, I'd appreciate
that; if not, that is fine with me, too.

Strings can be read into emacs, like the ones from the DOC file and then passed to the gettext functions to be translated. After all it is just a string to string translation. The strings doesn't need to be present in the binary.
