    If a clear and concise algorithm can be presented on how to proceed
    with this "crunching" I can atempt to do so.

Any time you can take multiple entries for a single function
and simplify them into one combined entry, if that makes the
whole thing simpler, you do it.

When you don't see more opportunities to do this, you are done.
