block your projects from using modern tools

i did not see where rms says he intends to block anything,
just that he is not willing to do non-email-based hacking.
(i take that as a personal statement, as one hacker's
preference amongst the group, and a reasonable position
to hold.)

you can save yourself the rant and try to think of a way
to accomodate email-based hacking w/ speedfreak hacking.

as for the "kids" missing out -- let them spin. what
they chase they will find in emacs, sooner or later.
perhaps it will not be in /usr/bin/emacs, but instead
some .../embedded-emacs-workalike.so; that's irrelevant.
