I like and use ido, but one drawback of ido's find-file behavior is that
it doesn't work with TRAMP. If you don't know about
`ido-fallback-command' that disqualifies ido.
BTW, I'd suggest to bind `ido-fallback-command' to `C-x b' in addition
to `C-x C-b' in `ido-buffer-completion-map'. That's easier to remember,
because then typing a key twice will always switch to the non-ido
version, e.g. `C-x C-f' twice opens the normal find-file interface and
`C-x b' twice would switch to the default buffer switching interface.
