Yes. Even worse when colors are changed, emacs fails to open other 
frames completely. To reproduce:

$ emacs -Q
M-x customize-face default
... edit: Foreground: white
... edit: Background: black
... apply customization
C-x 5 2
--> ... max-specpdl-size exceeded
