Alan, please just use @example... even if you don't like the default
formatting (everybody has their own tastes after all), that's still no
reason for examples you write to be formatted differently than every
other example in the manual.  The examples in this case are not large
and do not have extremely long lines, and I can't see any obvious reason
for them to be considered exceptional.
