I grepped the sources briefly, and found only one call to tmm-prompt
outside of tmm.el, in cperl-mode.el. I found 34 calls to x-popup-menu.
(I did: "find . -name \*.el | xargs egrep '\(x-popup-menu' | wc -l".)
