We knew that, there was a discussion here earlier about removing teroffs. We will put in a check for tearoffs (or perhaps Gtk+ 3), so that when you compile for Gtk+ 3, tearoffs are not present.
Based on past experience, when the Gtk+ people has made their minds up, there is little you can do to change it.
