Yeah, but in computer time Elisp is to git as David is to Jesus: the
great^24-grandfather.  That's a bit of an unfair comparison.  When
Emacs was git's age, its extension language was TECO and when you
typed C-g in a minibuffer it laughed at you and refused to quit!
