Adding a few realgud colors to /etc/themes

I would like to add three realgud color face definitions per theme into etc/themes. (realgud is an elpa package)

What's the preferred way to do this? 

The easiest for me is to create a branch of of the savannah git, make changes, and then do something that allows people to look at and merge in when okay.
